North East Culture Partnership to focus on the north of the region from April 2023
Details of changes to North East Culture Partnership's focus, in light of the North East Devolution Deal.
After 10 years of working across the 12 North East Local Authorities, the North East Culture Partnership (NECP) will be focussing on the North of the region from April 2023, and the Tees Valley authorities will focus on developing culture with their Tees Valley Combined Authority.
NECP will continue to engage with colleague in Tees Valley around our Annual Forum and Heritage Forum events, and will be working over the coming year to advocate for the ‘Case for Culture’ to play a constructive role as the North East Mayoral Combined Authority takes shape.
NECP Co-Chair Jane Robinson, Newcastle University Pro-Vice Chancellor Engagement and Place said:
“The North East Devolution Deal brings great potential for the region and the North East Culture Partnership will work to champion the role of our arts and heritage organisations who are at the heart of the region’s creative economy and an important part of what makes the region so distinctive.”
