Jane Robinson Named as New Co-Chair of North East Culture Partnership

The North East Culture Partnership is delighted to announce that Jane Robinson has been appointed as the new Co-Chair and will work alongside our Co-Chair Councillor Simon Henig, Leader of Durham County Council, to lead the partnership forward and develop our North East Case for Culture.

Jane is Newcastle University’s first Dean of Engagement and Place and her previous roles include Chief Executive of Gateshead Council, Chief Operating Officer at Durham University and senior roles at Arts Council England.

Her work at Newcastle looks at the role which culture plays in defining a ‘place’ and how partnerships can tackle social and economic challenges.

“I am leading the delivery of our Engagement and Place strategy, which is about the positive impact we can have on economic, social and cultural wellbeing,” she says. “I will be working with colleagues to ensure that our expertise is shared with external partners such as local authorities, voluntary groups and industry. Together we can make a difference.”
