The Case for Culture (C4C) Steering Group is a small group of 6 Board members drawn from the cultural sector who have taken on the role of helping the North East Culture Partnership (NECP) drive-forward the aspirations outlined in the Case for Culture. The group, originally formed to help involve the wider arts and heritage sector in the preparation of the Case for Culture, is now focussing on its delivery.
Five of the C4C Steering Group have each taken on specific responsibility for one of the five aspirations in C4C.
Chair: Ros Rigby, an independent consultant, formerly Performance Programme Director at Sage Gateshead
Participation and Reach: Annabel Turpin, ARC Stockton
Children and Young People: Bill Griffiths; Tyne and Wear Archives and Museum
Economic Impact: Sally Dixon Beamish Acting Director Beamish Museum
Talent and Progression: Sharon Paterson, Teesside University
Innovation and Distinctiveness: Keith Merrin, the National Glass Centre
Each aspiration has a working group, chaired by the Board member, drawn from the sector and with a wider stakeholder engagement through communications, updates and the annual Stakeholder Forum organised by NECP.
Anyone interested in either the individual aspirations, the wider stakeholder community or receiving updates on the work of NECP and the C4C Steering Group, can contact NECP directly or sign-up to the mailing list.
